E-Tuning FAQ
Yosh Tuned E-Tuning FAQ
What is an e-tune?
An e-tune is a custom remote calibration created for your specific vehicle, engine, modifications, fuel and intended use. You will upload calibrations, record datalogs and receive revisions by email until the tuning process is completed.
Is tuning hardware included?
No. All Yosh Tuned e-tuning products are calibration services only.
Hondata, KTuner, ECU hardware, laptops, cables, widebands and other tuning equipment are not included. You must already own compatible tuning hardware before purchasing.
Which tuning service should I purchase?
Choose the service that matches your tuning device:
- Hondata K-Pro or S300
- Hondata FlashPro
- KTuner
- Re-Tune Service for existing Yosh Tuned customers
Visit the Which Tune Do I Need? page if you are unsure.
What happens after I purchase?
You will receive instructions requesting information about your vehicle and setup. Please provide:
- Order number
- Year, make and model
- Engine and transmission
- ECU and tuning device
- Complete modification list
- Injector brand and size
- Fuel type
- MAP sensor and wideband information
- Current calibration, when applicable
Your first custom calibration will be created after the required information is received.
How long does the process take?
Calibration email responses are normally provided within 1–2 business days.
The total tuning time depends on how quickly accurate datalogs are returned, the condition of the vehicle and how many revisions are required.
Do you sell basemaps?
Yosh Tuned does not sell generic or standalone basemaps.
A custom starting calibration is provided as part of a purchased full e-tuning service and must be followed by the required datalogging and revision process.
Do I need a wideband?
An AFR wideband is required for Hondata S300 tuning and may be required for other naturally aspirated or boosted applications.
The wideband must be properly installed, configured and reading accurately before tuning begins.
What datalogs will I need?
Datalogging instructions will be provided during the tuning process. Logs may include:
- Cold-start and idle operation
- Normal city and highway driving
- Part-throttle operation
- A controlled third-gear pull
Do not perform a wide-open-throttle pull until instructed to do so.
Does my vehicle need to be mechanically ready?
Yes. The vehicle must be mechanically sound before tuning.
Remote tuning cannot repair:
- Boost, vacuum or exhaust leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Faulty injectors or sensors
- Ignition or misfire problems
- Wiring problems
- Low compression
- Overheating
- Failed mechanical components
Tuning will be paused until mechanical or electrical problems are corrected.
When should I purchase a Re-Tune?
Purchase the Re-Tune Service only if Yosh Tuned previously completed your tune and you have changed parts that affect the calibration.
Examples include:
- Fuel injectors or fuel pressure
- Fuel type
- Intake, throttle body, manifold, header or exhaust
- Camshafts or internal engine components
- MAP sensor or wideband configuration
- Turbocharger, supercharger or boost level
- Fuel-system components
Your previous Yosh Tuned order number and latest calibration are required.
I am a new customer with a previously tuned vehicle. Is that a re-tune?
No. If Yosh Tuned did not complete the previous tune, you must purchase the appropriate full e-tuning service.
Can you tune a newly built engine?
Yes, but a new engine or completely new setup requires a full e-tuning service. Yosh Tuned does not provide a generic basemap without the complete tuning service.
What fuel types are supported?
Fuel options depend on the vehicle and tuning platform. Available options can include:
- 91/92 octane
- 93/94 octane
- E85
- Flex fuel
Select the correct fuel option on the product page. Contact Yosh Tuned before purchasing if your fuel setup is not listed.
Can I request an additional burble or pops-and-bangs map?
An additional map may be available depending on the vehicle, ECU and exhaust setup. Ask during the tuning process.
Aggressive burble settings are not recommended for vehicles equipped with a catalytic converter and can increase wear on exhaust and turbo components.
Should I send another email if I am waiting?
Please keep all tuning communication in the original email thread and avoid sending repeated follow-up messages.
Calibration emails are answered from oldest to newest. Sending multiple messages can make the process harder to track.
What if I am still unsure?
Use the Yosh Tuned contact page and provide your vehicle, engine, transmission, tuning device, fuel and complete modification list before purchasing.
