Pre-Tuning Checklist

SPARK PLUGS:

  1. Make sure you are using at least one step colder spark plug in your boosted application. Stock/OEM heat range spark plugs can lead to pre ignition can damage the engine.
  2. Spark plug gap often times needs to be reduced in a forced induction application over the preset plug gap.  Generally, in a forced induction application 0.020" plug gap works very well.
  3. On NA setups, stock heat range plugs with the stock gap will be sufficient. Consult with Yosh if you have upgraded internals on a NA setup to get the correct spark plug heat range.

MAINTENANCE:

  1. Please check all fluids. Oil and coolant leaks need to be addressed before beginning the tuning process.
  2. Please make sure your battery voltage is 13.5~14v when engine is running.
  3. Please check all your grounds! All exposed wiring must be taken care of before beginning the tuning process.
  4. If your car is forced induction (TURBO/SUPERCHARGED), please ensure all boost leaks have been addressed.
  5. Recommend on doing a valve adjustment if the vehicle has over 100k miles as that will improve MPGs and overall performance.
